Hi, I’m Darla, a licensed therapist in California. I help adults navigate anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, low self esteem, and stress. I strive to create a warm, supportive space where you can feel comfortable being yourself, explore what’s bringing you to therapy, and work toward meaningful change.
I earned my master's degree from the University of Southern California and have several years of experience supporting adults through a range of life challenges. Many of the clients I work with are thoughtful and self aware, but feel stuck in recurring emotional or relationship patterns. They may understand what is happening but still struggle to change it, or feel overwhelmed by everything they are carrying. Therapy can be a space to slow down, gain clarity, and begin understanding what may be keeping you stuck.
My approach is collaborative, person centered, and insight oriented. I draw from psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness based approaches. Together, we can explore the patterns behind your thoughts, emotions, and relationships while also developing practical tools to help you feel more grounded, confident, and connected in your daily life. I believe therapy can be both meaningful and practical, allowing space for deeper exploration while also giving you tools you can use in everyday life.
Having navigated my own mental health challenges, I understand how vulnerable it can feel to ask for support. One of my greatest strengths is building strong, authentic connections with clients while balancing depth with practicality. I bring empathy, curiosity, and openness to our work together while also gently challenging patterns that may be keeping you stuck.
I believe you are the expert in your own story. My role is to walk alongside you with curiosity and care, working collaboratively to understand what you’re experiencing, explore patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and find approaches that feel meaningful and manageable for you.
Outside of my work, I prioritize regular movement through running, strength training, and walking. I also love spending time at the beach and being with my friends, family, and my beloved dogs. These connections and activities keep me grounded and remind me of the importance of balance, connection, and making space for the things that bring us joy.
